Feature: Amy Moore – Sunday Market
Having a background in another fast paced industry always helps the transition of jobs and careers. How did you find Sunday Market and what was your transition into the cannabis industry like?
Working front of house in food & beverage for 10+ years of my life meant being fast-paced was regular speed. I finally stepped out from behind the bar to work in the wild and highly competitive world of Craft Beer Sales. A few of my fellow weed-loving, craft beer coworkers had already made the transition to cannabis on legalization. After 3 years of bringing cannabis to the beer parties, Covid hit and I finally made the jump. The only thing I’d do differently is jump sooner! I LOVE this industry and the honest focus on education, community and the environment. Now I’m bringing weed to the weed parties!
With so many Brands and SKU’s under the Sunday Market moniker it must be difficult to keep track of everything going on. How do you stay organized and up to date?
My amazing Marketing Team consists of 3 strong and creative women who dreamt up The Sunday Market to house all 5 brands in our portfolio. We run a pretty tight ship as far as products go. Everything feels purposeful and highly innovative. Staying up to date means visiting the flower rooms and touring our facilities quarterly.
Grimsby is our hybrid greenhouse, Paris is a full production site with packaging and Port Perry is 86 acres of outdoor magic! Physically seeing our progress helps so much when I speak about our products and processes in-store with retailers and budtenders. Also, we can’t forget about Research! Education through discovery aka enjoying cannabis is really the best and most fun way, especially because cannabis is a little different for everyone. The bong has always been my go-to flower method and I’m a big CBD fan using our Omega 3 CBD soft gels on the daily.
What new products are you most excited about in the legal market?
Kick ass flower always gets me the most excited. Gelato 33 from Lot 420 makes me really happy. SO much flavour and that nose! I’m excited to see what they do next. I definitely need to try Ghost Drops. We just launched Do SI Dos flower through our craft brand Nith & Grand (Named for the two rivers in Paris, Ont. where we grow). Having popped this from seed and pheno hunted in-house, getting the chance to see and smell this batch throughout the growing process makes me beyond excited to finally try it! Oh! and I can’t forget to grab up some of that new Beurre Blanc whip, iykyk.
What products are you using right now?
So truly every product available from Noon & Night our CBD-focused wellness brand. We have a super relaxing hypoallergenic lavendar + CBD bath bomb and patiently waiting for the return of our “Freshly Minted” essential oil roller ball. We’re about to launch “Nite Caps” Soft Gels CBD suspended in Melatonin. I’m very excited to see how these go as a first ever of their kind! Qwest Papaya Cake and Nith & Grand TFPK are currently dabbing in my Rig. I also keep a BIG rosin coin in the fridge at all times!
