Rolling Round Up: Monthly Series
Welcome, rolling aficionados, to this month’s edition of Rolling Round Up! You’re in for a real treat this time around, as I was lucky enough to try out three fantastic new strains; some just new to me, & some completely brand-new to the scene! Unintentionally, this Rolling Round Up seems to have some running themes, as all three strains turned out to be incredibly engaging, well-crafted, and oh-so very potent. For those of you with refined tastes, a love for the tasty, or a taste for adventure, this is the Round Up for you!
Indica – Sorbetto by Carmel
As a long-time devotee to the Carmel brand, I was incredibly excited to see them come out with this brand-new strain. Sorbetto by Carmel is an indica-dominant craft strain that absolutely blew my socks off. It has a wonderfully sweet aroma, lying somewhere between fruit & dessert. After smoking, a deep, profoundly heavy-behind-the-eyes sensation crept up on me and stayed with me well into the night. With a legendary lineage consisting of Zkittlz, Sunset Sherbert, and Magnum Opus, Sorbetto is not messing around.
Sorbetto is an excellent pick for someone who dislikes indicas that put them right to sleep; while it is relaxing, it is surprisingly mentally engaging. I found myself getting enthralled by visual details, so this is an excellent strain for someone who loves to get lost in movies with beautiful cinematography. I wouldn’t recommend this as a social strain however, as I found it to be more contemplative than conversational. If you’re looking for a solitary visual adventure, Sorbetto is the strain for you.
Try it if you like: Head-heavy indicas, getting lost in beautiful visuals, relaxing strains that won’t put you to sleep.

Sativa – Organic Sour Cookies by 1964
Just as its name suggests, Organic Sour Cookies by 1964 is an absolute treat. Fans of organic cannabis may notice that this strain was once part of Simply Bare’s legendary lineup of high-quality organic flower. From experience I can assure you, this strain has the same great taste and beautiful, clean-burning bud!
On first smell I was immediately hit by its captivating citrusy-sourness mixed with dessert-like sweetness, reminiscent of apple turnovers, strudels, and ginger snaps. This can be credited to its fantastic dominant terpene profile, featuring uncommon terpenes like green apple-sour Farnesene and orchid-sweet Ocimene. The inclusion of Myrcene’s soothing hoppy profile further adds to the pervasive delight this strain instills.
The effects of this strain were wonderful, as I found myself enjoying both an upbeat mood and energy boost and a total lack of racing thoughts or anxiety. Organic Sour Cookies’ lineage of GSC and Sour Diesel perfectly balance each other out with comfort and euphoria blended with energy and sociability.
This strain left me desperately craving spring; it is absolutely perfect for being out in nature with friends. I have since been incredibly excited to share this strain with friends while taking a hike or chatting at a picnic. This strain is also ideal for smokers who are nervous to dip their toe into the sativa world, as its gentle nature is a perfect introduction. The sooner spring comes, the sooner we can welcome it in by sharing Organic Sour Cookies with friends!
Try it if you like: Upbeat strains, organic flower, a first-time experience with sativas.

Hybrid – B Banner by Shelter Craft x Prairie Grass
As multifaceted as it is tasty, B Banner by Sheltercraft and Prairie Grass is a craft hybrid experience like no other. This strain boasts big, beautiful dark-green buds that really showcase the passion and care taken with its growth and curing. This care is also evident in the immense amount of handy information on its packaging, from cure time, to cannabinoid percentages, to (most impressively) facts about the farm it was grown on.
It also includes very handy information about its terpene percentage, which I have always seen very high (the specific batch I tried was 3.02%). This really comes through in its smell, as it has a very pungent cheesy profile with hints of citrus and gas. Its terpene profile of Caryophyllene, Myrcene, and Limonene help to give it a deep, balanced experience, equal parts uplifting and relaxing.
My experience after smoking was very surprising; its Strawberry Diesel and OG Kush lineage had me expecting a balanced, middle-of-the-road hybrid. However, I was delighted to discover the rich, evolving nature of this strain! At first, I felt uplifted and mentally active (and quite hungry), but still grounded enough to maintain focus. But as the evening went on, the OG Kush portion of the strain crept up on me and wrapped me in a cocoon of euphoric comfort and dreaminess. Very few strains have given me such a unique, evolving experience!
Such a unique strain is perfect for someone looking for an engaging evening social smoke, but doesn’t want to end up awake all night after the fact. A movie night would be ideal, as you can laugh along with your favorite stoner comedy with your friends before ending the night with snacks and a snooze. OG Kush fans like myself would also love this strain, as its beautifully crafted buds display the absolute best that this fan-favorite lineage has to offer. If you want to find a craft strain that evolves with your evening, give B Banner a try and thank the Rolling Round Up!
Try it if you like: A high that evolves, big beautiful buds, cerebral stimulation with full-bodied coziness.
