Review: Madge and Mercer La Calma Lemongrass Ginger CBD Oil
After my last encounter with Madge and Mercer (which left me absolutely obsessed with their El Alevio Menta disposable vape), I had very high expectations for the next product in their lineup. To my delight, my expectations have been utterly exceeded by this new and perhaps permanent addition to my daily rotation.
Madge and Mercer’s La Calma Lemongrass and Ginger CBD Oil absolutely changes the game for frequent CBD and tincture consumers. Sleek, slim, and polished, this 25mL delight makes incorporating CBD oil into your routine an accessible and enjoyable practice of self care.
La Calma boasts an ideal dosage of 2mg of THC to 50mg of CBD per 1mL syringe; just enough THC to help the CBD along in its work, and just the right amount of CBD for intermediate users to find the perfect dosage for their needs. I found a lot of enjoyment in experimenting, and found that for myself that 0.3mL was an ideal dosage to keep me grounded throughout my day.
The most exciting aspect of La Calma is its flavour. For many other cannabis oils, the philosophy surrounding taste is to render it nonexistent; very often attempts to make it as flavourless as possible are either entirely unsuccessful (leaving an unpleasant and unmistakable weed-y taste) or make consuming it entirely uninteresting. In a move of utter brilliance, Madge and Mercer chose to work with flavour rather than against it, with La Calma’s intriguingly delicious lemongrass and ginger profile. I’m normally not a fan of ginger, so I was initially concerned to give this oil a try. However, I was delighted to find that it blended perfectly with the lemongrass flavour, and was gentle enough that it wasn’t overwhelming. This masterful use of flavour makes sense, as renowned chef and edible aficionado Chef Ted Corrado was consulted in its inception. His insight has allowed Madge and Mercer to entirely reimagine the CBD oil experience, not as something to be quietly taken without intrusion on the palette, but as an enhancement of taste and daily life.
This enhancement of taste makes La Calma the ideal candidate to add to food or drinks. Ever since I first got it, it’s become an almost daily addition to my morning berry smoothies; I often add it not just for the positive effects of its CBD content, but for the fantastic flavour it adds to my smoothies in itself! I would personally recommend adding this to anything sweet and wholesome, as it would pair wonderfully with herbal tea or a hearty morning oatmeal. Its focus on flavour opens the door for nearly endless experimentation, as it can add a nice little kick to nearly anything!
La Calma has been an immense enhancement to my daily routine, and I expect that it will remain in my rotation for a long time. I would recommend it to intermediate CBD oil users who are looking for a next step in dosage, foodies with an experimental spirit, and (in my case) those who need a little encouragement to get their fruits and veggies in by stepping up their smoothie game. Madge and Mercer has once again proven themselves to be a pioneering force in the industry, continually reimagining the possibilities of CBD to enhance people’s daily lives and make using cannabis a conscious practice of self care.
