1964 Supply Co’s much anticipated Organic Romulan strain hit the ground running towards the end of 2021 when it was introduced to the Ontario market. Romulan, an indica dominant strain with North American Indica x White Rino making it up its lineage was a popular legacy market strain that did not have a spotlight in the legal market. Though Palmetto also introduced a Romulan strain in both the Dried Flower and Vape categories, it did not have quite the same impact as 1964’s Organic version.
The Organic Romulan by 1964 produces dense, frosty buds with orange pistils. Its aroma is made up of pine, citrus and earthy scents with Myrcene being the most pro dominant terpene.
The dried flower version of this strain is stunning when first opened. The terpene profile hits you in the face immediately and the buds are hand trimmed, giving them a great appeal when pulled out. Breaking up the product, it is not too dry and did not crumble but no issues with the type of grind. The product tastes better than it smells if that can be believed, and lives up to the legacy version that so many people came to know and love.
When opening the bag of pre rolls, the terpenes stand out more than most, immediately stinking up whatever room you might be in. They burn nicely but when passing the half way mark, these tend to collect a lot of resin, making it hard to pull and backing up the joint. I’ve had to either out the joint and remove the cherry to re-light or simply re-roll the joint before smoking, which is what sparked my interest in the flower in the first place.
